Basic Functions

Assists patients, visitors, providers and office staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Performs all duties efficiently and timely, while maintaining a positive patient flow. Serves as an office liaison when required.

Provides front line duties and support in a physician practice/outpatient setting. Registers patients for office visits, collects payment for services rendered and completes all insurance billing and/or follow up on patient account. Serve as office liaison when required. This position involves direct patient association. Check in/check out. Schedule office appointments. Verify insurance. Answer phones. Enters patient data into computer.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a related field involving administrative support and customer service activities, or successful completion of a Medical Office Administrative Assistant certificate program.
  • General knowledge of medical ethics and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance, ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a pressured environment.
  • Proficient computer skills with emphasis on accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse population.
  • Handle stressful situations.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a medical setting, insurance environment or related field.

Cardiac Rehab Nurse

Basic Functions

Position is responsible for Inpatient and Outpatient Cardiac, Vascular, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation patient care and assessment. Assists in insurance authorizations & business related functions. Maintains daily attendance, post charges on a daily basis, and follow-up on patient non-compliance. Follows-up Inpatient progress through telephone survey and Outpatient progress to the physician through Physician Progress Reports. Directs any symptomatic patient to the attention of the attending physician and the Cardiac, Vascular, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Staff.

Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered nurse licensed in South Carolina.
  • BLS and ACLS certified.
  • Basic arrhythmia interpretation skills.
  • Experience in cardiac, vascular and pulmonary care nursing, patient-family education and rehabilitation nursing preferred.
  • Instructor status in BLS and ACLS certification preferred.

Basic Functions

Responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patients under the direction of the manager/provider. Works regularly with information which is restricted to specific persons. Discretion and integrity are recognized requirements for the job. Responsible for high degree of accuracy and control of details. Moderate physical activity, clerical and/or light physical work. Qualifications

Registered Echo Vascular Sonographer

Basic Functions

Proficient at all functions required to schedule, perform and process echo and vascular ultrasound examinations.

Provides professional technical supportive care and comfort measures and performs echo/vascular ultrsound procedures on infants (birth to 1 year), children (1 year to 12 years), adolescents (12 years to 17 years, adults (18 years to 65 years), and geriatric (over 65 years).

Qualifications
  • Proficient at all functions required to schedule, perform and process echo and vascular ultrasound examinations.
  • Graduation from a formal program or 2 years experience to either echocardiography and/or vascular sonography.
  • Certified in CPR or certified within 3 months of employment.
  • Registered (ARDMS or CCI) in Echocardiography and Vascular Technology.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses excellent understanding of medical terminology.
  • Approved by the Medical Director or his designee to independently perform studies at this institution.

Scheduling Coordinator

Basic Functions

Performs advanced scheduling functions in the Misys Vision and Misys Vision Set Up appointment scheduling applications. Ensures that all provider schedules are accurately loaded in a timely manner. Works very closely with the office manager/medical office supervisor, business office staff, clinical staff and all providers to enhance the workflow of the entire department. Greets patients and visitors, answers telephone and performs a variety of routine clerical duties. Performs advanced scheduling functions including the loading of new appointment schedules, loading changes to previously loaded schedules, coordinating provider schedules, oversight of daily appointment scheduling team operations, and coordinating appointment scheduling team activities

Qualifications
  • High school graduate.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to understand both written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform more than one task at a time.
  • Minimum of two years work experience in a related area that demonstrates professionalism, inclusive of the ability to work well with others, provide outstanding customer service to patients and handle stressful situations in a constructive manner.
  • Prior physician practice clerical experience with some medical terminology and CRT experience.
  • Ability to successfully teach others.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel.)
  • Prior computer knowledge is required.
  • Six (6) month training/probationary period to demonstrate proficiency.
